OBS Overlays
Overlays are browser URLs for OBS. KALYIX Tip has two types:
| Type | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Alert Overlay | Short-lived alerts from the alert queue. Empty while no alert is active. |
| Public Overlay | Persistent overlays such as goal bar, text, HTML, media, or tipper lists. Empty when the overlay is disabled. |
Alert Overlay
The alert overlay only shows content while an alert from the queue is active.

| Queue empty | The browser source stays visibly empty. |
| Alert is triggered | Test Send or a real payment puts an alert job into the queue. |
| Alert active | The saved alert template is rendered with tokens, positions, styles, and animations. |
| Duration ends | The alert is acknowledged and disappears again. |

Public Overlay
Public overlays are built in the Public Overlay Editor. They are meant for persistent OBS areas.

| Latest Tippers | List of the latest supporters from paid tips. |
| Text/HTML | Custom info boxes, stream notes, or animated blocks. |
| Media | Image or graphic as an overlay element. |
| Ticker | Scrolling text with static content or tokens. |
A public overlay has its own public URL. Only active overlays show content. If an overlay is disabled, the OBS URL stays empty.
Currently, creator, goal, latest-tippers, and top-tipper values are filled automatically from your Tip data when saving. Stream message data remains empty until a stream source is connected.

Alert Overlay:

https://deine-domain.example/overlay/widget/<secret>The URL must always be copied into OBS in full. Only /a/... or /overlay/... is not enough because OBS has no domain context.
Security
Overlay URLs contain a secret token. Anyone who knows the URL can open the output.
| Rule | Why |
|---|---|
| Do not share the URL publicly | The token is access to your overlay. |
| Use only in OBS or your own test windows | This keeps output controlled. |
| Rotate token if suspicious | The old URL becomes invalid and OBS needs the new URL. |
| Do not post screenshots with visible URL | The token can be copied from the screenshot. |
Important For OBS
An empty output is not an error for overlays:
